ILLUSIONS OF
DESTINY
A sudden chill surrounded her when Regan
moved away, his head bowed and his shoulders slumped. He
disappeared into the shadows of the room. “I’m sorry,
Ianna,” he said. “I have to go.”
“Already?” She struggled to catch her breath. Her body
still throbbed and her desire still needed release. How
could he do that to her? Build her up and up until she
would allow him any access to her body that he wanted –
and then drop her like a stone. She wiped her brow, her
hand trembling.
He stepped back into the light of the fire. “There
is business I need to attend to.”
“Oh.”
“I've disappointed you.”
Ianna shrugged. “I just thought we’d …” Her eyes darted
to the bed. “I’ll survive.”
When she looked at Regan, he shook his
head, regretfully. “I still need to learn …” His
words cut short. “I don’t know …” Once again, he couldn’t
finish the sentence.
Realization washed over her as she stared at him. He was
new to this. Her eyebrows shot up in disbelief. How could
the most gorgeous man alive be inexperienced – and if
that was the case, how had he managed to turn her into a
powerhouse of avid energy without touching
her?
“Have you ever made love to a woman?” she asked, the
words sounding harsher than she intended.
A small frown flickered across his brow. “Made love?” He
shook his head, bewildered. “I haven’t heard that saying
before. As a male, it is my job to pleasure a
female.”
Oh, yes, pleasure me! She
drew in a breath but didn’t voice her agreement.
She needed to remember that even though he looked
human he was also part sidhe and she didn’t know the
sidhe customs for this sort of thing. It could be normal
for their males to know nothing about sex until later in
life.
Regan stood close to her again, his power filtering
through the damp bath sheet. “I really must go,” he said
quietly. “Next time, you will teach me.”
